17 day Birding Tour : Mabamba, Lake Mburo, Bwindi,Ruhija,Mubwindi,Queen Elizabeth, Kibale, Murchison Falls, and Masindi

Day 1:Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, transfer to your Hotel. Depending on time bird around Entebbe area overnight Hotel. BB

Day 2:Morning drive to Mabamba swamp for the Shoebill Stork and other water birds after which drive to Lake Mburo Lunch and birding enroute e.g. at Kaaku swamp for the Rufous-bellied Heron, Lesser Jacana, Lesser Moorhen and a variety of water birds overnight Hotel. FB.

Day 3:Morning birding and mammal watching, bird the grassland for the Brown-chested Plover (this is there between June and December), Red-faced Barbet here we shall have the chance to see the Zebra, Eland, Topis, Impalas and some other game, afternoon go for a boat ride in search for the African Finfoot overnight Hotel in Mbarara. FB.

Day4 :Travel to Ruhija, Bwindi national park birding the “Neck” for Black bee-eaters, Bronze Napped Pigeon, Many coloured Bushshrike and many others overnight Institute Guest House.

Day5 :Trek to Mubwindi swamp for the Green Broadbill, Grauer’s Rush Warbler, Purple-breasted, Blue headed and Regal Sunbirds overnight Institute Guest House.

Day 6 :Bird Buhoma for Handsome Francolin, Rufous-chested Fluff tail, Olive Long-tailed Cuckoo, Red-chested Owlet, Neumann’s Warbler and many other birds overnight Hotel. FB.

Day 7 :An early morning trek into the forest led by experienced trackers for Mountain Gorillas. You will be within a meter and spend some time amongst them after which return to your hotel overnight.

Day 8 :Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park birding enroute, arriving for an afternoon boat ride on Kazinga channel for a variety of water birds, Schools of Hippos, Crocodiles overnight Hotel. FB.

Day 9:Morning game drive through the Kasenyi track and Kob mating grounds in search for savanna birds like the Temminck’s Courser, Martial Eagle, Rupell’s Griffon Vulture e.t.c, and mammals like the lions, Elephants, Buffalo, Hyena, Giant Forest Hogs, and other game afternoon game drive to the crater areas Hotel. FB.

Day10 :Drive to Fort portal birding enroute, afternoon bird around the crater lakes overnight Hotel. FB

Day 11:Morning chimp tracking and birding Kibale Forest for the African and Green-breasted Pittas and a variety of forest species afternoon swamp walk for papyrus endemics and primates overnight Hotel in Fort portal. FB.

Day12 :After breakfast drive to Murchison Falls NP via Masindi, pass by the top of the falls for the Pel’s Fishing Owl, Rock Prantincoles, Bat Hawk and a variety of Night Jars overnight Hotel. FB.

Day 13:Morning cross with a ferry for a game drive to the Delta for the Shoebill stork and other water birds, animals like the Lion, Leopards, Giraffes, Oribis, Hartebeests, Elephants, to mention but a few afternoon boat ride to the bottom of the Falls where we shall see a variety water birds, schools of Hippos, Crocodiles and the magnificent falls at a close range overnight Hotel. FB.

Day 14:Early morning drive to Masindi via Kaniyo pabidi birding for Puvell’s Illadopsis and a variety of forest birds overnight hotel. FB

Day 15:Bird the Royal mile for Cassin’s Hawk Eagle, Nahan’s Francolin, Chocolate-backed and Dwarf Kingfishers, Brown-backed Scrub Robin afternoon visit Busingiro overnight Hotel. FB.

Day16 :Bird the escarpment for Foxy Cisticola, Cliff charts Western Violet-backed Sunbird afternoon bird the main road Ituri Batis, White-spotted Greenbull, Forest Robin, Narina Trogon and the pond for the Shining Blue King fisher overnight Hotel. FB.

Day17 :Drive to Entebbe for your flight birding enroute for the White- crested Turaco, end of trip.

Included in this itinerary: Accommodation on full board basis, park entrance fees, boat cruises, vehicle hire with fuel and driver guide, ranger guides fees and guided nature walks, chimp tracking, ferry crossings at Murchison Falls.
