9 days Burundi Primate Trek, Beach, Cultural, and City Adventure.

Day 1: Bujumbura-Rumonge:  Upon arrival at the airport, transfer to Tanganyika Blue Bay Resort. The picturesque route along Lake Tanganyika is the perfect welcoming sight. Lake Tanganyika is a renowned Lake for its length and bio diversity. Dinner and overnight at Tanganyika Blue Bay Resort

Day 2: Kigwena National Reserve:  After breakfast, drive to Kigwena National Reserve for a forest walk in search for its flora and faunawhich includes chimpanzees and monkeys including the owl faced monkeys and baboons. Drive to Tanganyika Blue Bay Resort for lunch and beach relaxation (tennis court, swimming, boat rides and beach volley). Enjoy a beach dinner at the Tanganyika Blue Bay Resort.

Day 3: Beach Activities/Relaxation:  Spend the rest of the weekend at the clean beaches of Tanganyika Blue Bay Resort where beach activities; (tennis court, swimming, sun bathing, boat rides and beach volley) will keep you refreshed and entertained.  Between meals. A visit to the fishermen village will allow bring you to a closer look of the local life and activities. Overnight at Tanganyika Blue Bay Resort

Day 4: Rumonge-Source of Nile-Karera Waterfalls –Gitega: After breakfast, drive towards “the Source of Nile” where a pyramid has been erected to symbolize the most southern source of the majestic River Nile. Later drive to Karera Waterfalls, en route, magnificent tea plantations and landscapes offers green sceneries for photographers. Upon arrival at Karera, a hiking picnic gives the best view of the four different waterfalls as well as the surrounding rich flora. Later, drive to Gitega for dinner and overnight at Tropitel Hotel.

Day 5: Gitega :   After breakfast This is the second biggest town and colonial capital of Burundi with its typical colonial architecture. It hosts the country’s National Museum with its ethnographic and archaeological collections. A tour in the growing town is also an opportunity not only to learn the history of Burundi but to also mingle close up with the locals. Dinner and overnight at Tropitel Hotel Gitega

Day 6 : Gishora Drums Sanctuary :  After breakfast, visit the drum sanctuary of Gishora ;  the town is  the most famous drum sites of Burundi, it  houses two ritual drums that were never beaten. Ruciteme (the one for whom we clear the forest) and Murimirwa (the one for whom we cultivate). The two names are intimately linked to the farming vocation and refer clearly to the fertility, characteristic of the king.

There are ordinary, but ceremonial drums which the Batimbo beat on special occasions of the country. At the drum sanctuary, you will discover the cultural tradition of Burundi. The site recreates an architectural complex of a traditional Royal palace, watch the drummers’ performance; rarely found elsewhere in the country, Dinner and overnight at Tropitel Hotel Gitega.

Day 7: Kibira National Park: After breakfast you will be driven to the Park, on arrival pick and experienced park guide, discover inside the charm of this authentic rainforest which will reward you with an opportunity to immerse oneself in the exceptional ecosystem; see chimpanzees, birds, astonishing waterfalls and the sources of some great rivers in Burundi’s – take a lunch break. In the afternoon, drive to Bujumbura and Overnight at Safari Gate Hotel.

Day 8: Bujumbura City Tour: After breakfast, enjoy a full day tour in Bujumbura, visit Rusizi National Park, take a boat tour the joining point of Rusizi river and Lake Tanganyika for a closer look of the hippo, numerous birds, climb the Belvedere Climb for a better view of Bujumbura city at the hill top and  the Independence hero monument. Overnight at Safari Gate Hotel

Day 9: Airport Transfer-Departure: After breakfast, depart to the Airport to return to your home country.
